Company Profile
Based in Mission Viejo, Incuity Software / Dataworks Systems was the leading developer of real-time intelligence software for enhanced plant data analysis management and manufacturing decision-making.

Collect / Research & Analyze
When Incuity was developing a set of manufacturing plant software tools, we were brought in to help them launch their new software toolset and bring their product lines to market. That included developing a brand identity and packaging system that would appeal to server administrators who were looking for a powerful suite of management applications. Typically, software collateral in this specialized industry is cluttered and filled with complicated technical data, driving us to opt for a clean, visually-rich and color-driven approach.

We developed a very contemporary, clean look to differentiate the Incuity family against other competitor products.

Articulate / Strategize & Simplify
The end-user product line was offered in two applications, EMI and HDA, each with different business functions and reporting tools. We collaborated closely with Incuity to create a graphic and color system to help visually differentiate between the two and retain a direct relationship with the customer type, while still communicating the integrity of the Incuity product family. This system was used throughout the marketing, packaging and sales materials of the products.

Each software product was designated a color palette for communication purposes.

Deliver / Produce & Amplify
To keep packaging costs low, we chose to have slip sheets printed and inserted into software cases instead of producing turned-corner printed cardboard cases. Software talking points were presented in large type on sales sheets to help customers easily make comparisons between the two complex software packages. The brand system was further extended to their tradeshow booth and signage. The strong brand colors worked well to cut through the visual clutter of manufacturing conferences and tradeshow collateral.

Production budgets were considered in the design of the packaging.

Elevate / Measure & Perfect
The software launch was so successful that the product line was acquired by Rockwell Automation three years later. Incuity EMI is now integrated with Rockwell Software’s FactoryTalk® Services and the Incuity management team became part of Rockwell Automation’s Architecture & Software operating segment.

Easy to find information and clear datapoints helped customers find what they were looking for.
